Consultation and Initial Site Visit

Our process begins with an initial client consultation to help us better understand you, your goals, and the existing conditions on your property. Do you want to make it easier to enjoy being outside in your yard? Are you looking to create a wildlife sanctuary? Do you want to grow your own food? Do you want to create a more climate-friendly property, that requires less mowing and pesticides?

Site Analysis and Design Plans

We begin every design process by analyzing the site conditions, which—along with your goals—guide the design of your landscape. This analysis phase ensures that each design reflects and supports the unique ecology of your site, and helps clients avoid costly mistakes during the installation process. A follow-up meeting will be scheduled to review preliminary designs and discuss changes. In the final phase of the design process, we deliver hand-drawn or digitally rendered plan view and section drawings of our designs, planting plans, and a rough estimate of installation costs.

Installation and Follow-up

If you decide to hire us to install your landscape or garden, we will create a detailed cost estimate (reflecting any new changes), prepare and amend soils, and install plants sourced from local nurseries. We also coordinate with and work alongside subcontractors to install necessary hardscaping, water features, lighting, or buildings, and offer technical services such as permitting support and construction oversight to ensure installations meet the specifications of the design. We also work with clients to create sustainable land management plans, and can provide ongoing organic horticultural services for any landscape we design and install.

New Client Questionnaire

If you are interested in working with us to achieve your landscape goals, please submit this brief questionnaire. We will be in touch to schedule an initial site consultation after receiving the completed form. We are based in Winooski and Burlington, Vermont and serve the Champlain Valley.
